ADA NSW BOQ Specialist Recent Graduate Bursary

Proudly supporting early career dentists

The ADA NSW BOQ Specialist Recent Graduate Bursary is a professional development grant that was launched in August 2018 as part of a long-standing partnership with the Australian Dental Association New South Wales Branch (ADA NSW) and BOQ Specialist.

The bursary is open to ADA NSW members who have graduated within the past seven years and aims to acknowledge their commitment to high quality learning and to provide financial support for further professional development through continuing education
 courses.

Congratulations to our 2018 recipient

We are delighted to announce Taree dentist, Dr. Jenny Hong, as the recipient of the inaugural ADA NSW BOQ Specialist Recent Graduate Bursary. Dr. Hong was named the recipient of the bursary during the ADA NSW Convention Gala Dinner on Saturday 15 September, receiving $5,000 to be applied to ADA NSW Centre for Professional Development training courses.

Graduating from the University of Sydney in 2016, Dr. Hong worked at the Sydney Dental Hospital before moving into private practice in Taree, on the mid-north coast. Over the past 18 months, Dr. Hong has undertaken 16 CPD courses and identified a range of courses she would like to do to improve her professional knowledge and experience in order to deliver the highest quality of care to her patients. Her commitment to further education and training as well as rural practice made her a deserving recipient of this year's bursary.

Dr. Hong will be featured in the ADA NSW’s online and print publications as well as BOQ Specialist’s upcoming Best Practice publication.

“BOQ Specialist is a long serving industry partner and supporter of ADA NSW and we are delighted to collaborate to offer the ADA NSW BOQ Specialist Recent Graduate Bursary to our recent graduate members. We are committed to providing high quality continuing professional development for our members and this will help develop the professional and clinical skills of a young dentist.”

Dr. Neil Peppitt, President, ADA NSW

“We have so many ways we can improve the lives of our patients, so I feel there will always be further training and education I need to complete to deliver the highest quality of care to my patients.”

Dr. Jenny Hong, 2018 bursary recipient
