ADAVB BOQ Specialist Recent Graduate Bursary

Proudly supporting early career dentists

The ADAVB BOQ Specialist Recent Graduate Bursary is a professional development grant that was launched in March 2019 as part of a long-standing partnership between BOQ Specialist and the Australian Dental Association Victorian Branch (ADAVB).

The bursary is open to ADAVB members who have graduated within the past seven years and aims to acknowledge their commitment to high quality learning and to provide financial support for further professional development through continuing education
 courses.

Congratulations to our 2019 bursary recipient

Yarra Ranges dentist, Dr Amy Thompson, has been awarded the inaugural ADAVB BOQ Specialist Recent Graduate Bursary.

“Dr Thompson has taken a broad approach to her learning, exploring a wide range of dentistry areas and overcoming difficult personal circumstances to create for herself a fulfilling career where she acknowledges there is always more to learn," said ADAVB President, Dr Gitika Sanghvi. "Her openness to further development, her heartfelt commitment to her patients, and her quest for development of confidence and independence were qualities that were hard to look by."

In addition to a Certificate of Recognition, Dr Thompson will receive $5,000 to be applied to ADAVB CPD courses. Dr Thompson will also be featured in our upcoming edition of ‘Best Practice’.

“BOQ Specialist has provided distinctive banking solutions to dentists for over 25 years so we deeply understand their career trajectory and the importance of continued professional development. The purpose of this bursary is to reward the commitment of recent dental graduates to ongoing education and training in order to deliver the highest quality of care to their patients.”

Hugh Lander, CEO, BOQ Specialist

“We are proud to partner with BOQ Specialist to offer this exclusive opportunity to our graduate members, recognising their commitment to excellence in the early stage of their career. This commitment extends not only to their own professional development but to the high-quality care of their patients and the wider community.”
