Sydney, 10 June 2016

BOQ Specialist have reinforced their long-standing commitment to the Australian Medical Students Association (AMSA), with the bank signing on as a major partner for the fifth consecutive year.

The BOQ Specialist team has over 20 years’ experience offering tailored financial services to Australia’s medical professional sector. The partnership allows the bank to closely support AMSA’s 17,000 members through the demanding early stages of their medical career.

“Our long history of working with medical students and graduates means we have a deep knowledge of the unique challenges they face and as such we are able to develop tailored banking solutions to suit,” BOQ Specialist CEO, Dr Brett Robinson said.

BOQ Specialist assesses clients holistically and places value on their qualifications. Explaining this approach, Dr Robinson said: “We are committed to supporting the next generation of doctors while they concentrate on building their skills, but haven’t yet had a chance to accumulate personal wealth.”

AMSA is the peak representative body for medical students in Australia, with their key objective being to connect, inform and represent every one of Australia’s 17,000 medical students.

Commenting on the partnership, AMSA’s President Elise Buisson said "BOQ Specialist are a great support to medical students and junior doctors alike, catering to their interests and financial needs right from the beginning. Medical students particularly benefit from support that begins during their degree, providing the financial expertise that underpins their journey through training and beyond."

Through the partnership, AMSA members will be able to access a suite of specialist banking facilities and exclusive benefits, including 24 hour private client service, waiver or reduction on select fees and a choice of frequent flyer programs.
