Sydney, 20 March 2017

As part of a long-standing partnership with the Australian Dental Association Victorian Branch (ADAVB), BOQ Specialist today revealed its third professional development grant - the ADAVB BOQ Specialist CPD Practice Bursary.

The bursary aims to acknowledge dental practices committed to quality learning and to fund further professional development for practitioners and professional staff members.

Commenting on the bursary, ADAVB President, Dr Andrew Gikas, said: “BOQ Specialist is a long serving industry partner and supporter of the ADAVB and we are delighted to collaborate again to offer the 2017 ADAVB BOQ Specialist Practice Bursary to ADAVB members in private practice. We are particularly proud to have a partner that supports continuous learning and development for the whole dental team, and this wonderful initiative also supports ADAVB’s core objective which is to maintain dentistry practice standards through training and education for the benefit and protection of the public and dental staff.”

In addition to a Certificate of Recognition, the $10,000 bursary includes $8,000 to be applied to CPD and training programs and $2,000 to be applied to ADAVB CPD courses. The winning practice will be featured in the ADAVB’s online and print publications and in BOQ Specialist’s own ‘Best Practice’ publication.

BOQ Specialist State Manager, Dianne Stewart said: “We are delighted to continue to offer the ADAVB/BOQ Specialist CPD Bursary for 2017 marking not only the strength of our partnership with the ADAVB but also our commitment to supporting the benefits of professional development in the industry”.

Mooroolbark based Dr Monica O’Malley, winner of the 2016 bursary added: “As a result of the bursary we have been able to engage in some great training opportunities for staff members, and expand the team, in order to continue to better serve the needs of our patients and community”.

BOQ Specialist CEO, Dr Brett Robinson concluded: “BOQ Specialist has provided distinctive banking solutions to dentists for over 25 years which means we deeply understand the importance of continued professional development within practices.  We are proud to continue our partnership with ADAVB and through the bursary program support dental practices in delivering the highest quality care to their patients”.

The bursary is open to ADAVB member owned private practices, and submissions will be accepted until 5pm 31 May 2017. The application form is available via the ADAVB website.
