BOQ Specialist and ADA NSW offer vital grant opportunity for young dentists

Sydney, 20 January 2023

Applications are now open for the 2023 Australian Dental Association New South Wales (ADA NSW) and BOQ Specialist Recent Graduate Grant, which assists the career growth and development of a young NSW dental graduate.

The successful applicant of this year’s Grant, which recognises a demonstrable commitment to high-quality ongoing professional development, will receive $5,000 towards career development training within the ADA NSW Centre for Professional Development (CPD).

A runners-up prize of $2,500 for career development training within ADA NSW CPD will again also be offered this year.

ADA NSW President Dr Rohan Krishnan said he was delighted to again offer the Grant for recent graduate members to help them gain an edge in a competitive talent pool. “BOQ Specialist has been a long-serving and greatly appreciated industry partner and supporter of ADA NSW,” Dr Krishnan said. “We are very grateful for their support of the Grant once again.

“ADA NSW CPD is the leading provider of professional development activities for dentists and their teams in Australia. With more than 300 clinical lectures and workshops run by CPD per year, it offers world-class facilities and support providing a diverse range of educational programs by renowned local national and international presenters for the whole dental team.

“This is a terrific opportunity for those relatively new to dentistry to earn subsidised places on CPD courses of their choice, enhance their professional development and further boost their skills base and knowledge. I strongly encourage all eligible applicants to apply.”

The Grant is open to any financial ADA NSW Member who completed their studies in the years between 2015 - 2022 and is not serving a current term in office on the ADA NSW Board or Council. The successful applicant will be required to outline how the Grant will advance their career and other eligibility criteria also applies.

BOQ Specialist General Manager Keith Strachan said: “We are proud to partner once again with ADA NSW to offer the Recent Graduate Grant. Not only does this mark the strength of our longstanding partnership, but our shared commitment to supporting the next generation of dentists.

“We’ve been working closely with dentists for over 30 years so we understand the importance of ongoing training and upskilling, especially at the beginning of their careers. This grant is a great opportunity to both recognise and reward those new practitioners who are committed to their own professional development in order to deliver the highest quality of care to their patients and their communities,” he said.

Closing date for entries is Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at 5pm.
