New business loan applicants to save on fees and support charities

Bank of Queensland’s (BOQ) business bank and BOQ Specialist arm have today launched a new campaign to help ease upfront costs for eligible business loan customers while giving back to the community through charitable donations.

Running from 18 August to 31 December 2025, BOQ will offer eligible new business loan applicants a valuation fee waiver of up to $5,000 and a $500 donation to a BOQ charity partner of their choice, funded directly by BOQ, subject to terms and  conditions.

“This campaign reflects BOQ’s commitment to supporting Australian businesses and the communities they serve,” said General Manager BOQ Specialist, Keith Strachan.

“By reducing upfront costs and enabling customers to contribute to causes they care about, we’re helping businesses grow with purpose.”

BOQ has partnered with four charities that align with its values:

  • Beyond Blue
  • Life Flight
  • Orange Sky
  • Rural Aid

Customers can nominate their preferred charity during the loan application process, with donations made directly by BOQ at the end of the campaign.

“Building on BOQ’s existing partnerships with Beyond Blue and Orange Sky, we’ve carefully selected an additional two well-known and trusted charities that are important to our customers and align to our values as an organisation,” added Strachan.

“By extending our charity line-up, we also hope to magnify the social impact we can create alongside our customer care and community support programs.”

The offer applies to new business lending applications between $750,000 and $10,000,000, for Business Term Loans (including Commercial Property and Goodwill), Commercial Rate Loans, Business Overdrafts, and Business One Accounts (with Overdraft). Loans must be funded by 28 February 2026 to qualify. Response from charities involved:

Beyond Blue CEO, Georgie Harman AO said:

“Nearly half of us will experience a mental health issue in our lifetime. Every two minutes, someone reaches out to the Beyond Blue Support Service. When someone is distressed, overwhelmed, in extreme psychological pain, or at breaking point, Beyond Blue is there with free, immediate counselling, advice and referrals around the clock. Through BOQ’s generosity, you can help us answer every call, offering hope and help when it’s needed most.”

Orange Sky CEO and Co-Founder, Lucas Patchett said:

“It's never been a more important time for our vans and volunteers to be out on the road providing our services to help lighten the load. A donation of $24 allows Orange Sky to provide someone doing it tough a load of clean laundry and a hot shower. BOQ’s support will allow Orange Sky to continue to provide our essential services to the ever growing Aussies who need a helping hand.”

LifeFlight Chief of Communications & Foundation, Michelle Groombridge said:

“BOQ’s generosity will help LifeFlight continue to deliver critical aeromedical care to Queenslanders in their time of greatest need. Every contribution supports our crews as they save lives, respond to emergencies, and bring hope to communities in remote and regional areas.”

Rural Aid CEO, John Warlters said:

“Donations from initiatives like this enable Rural Aid to provide vital support to farming families facing hardship. With BOQ’s help, we can deliver more water, hay, and mental health support to those who keep Australia growing, especially through challenging times.”
