Brisbane, 10 August 2020
In partnership with the Australian Dental Association Queensland Branch (ADAQ), BOQ Specialist has today revealed it will be offering two professional development grants in 2020 as part of the popular ADAQ and BOQ Specialist CPD Bursary program.
Now in its fourth consecutive year, the bursary program aims to recognise dental practitioners that are committed to quality learning and to support their career development by funding continuing professional development.
Valued at $5,500 each, the ADAQ and BOQ Specialist CPD Bursaries are available to current members of ADAQ. This year, one bursary will be offered to a recent graduate member (with less than 5 years of work experience), and the other will be offered to an experienced practitioner (with over five years of work experience). The bursaries are to be applied towards ADAQ Continuing Professional Development events or certificate III or IV in Dental Assisting via the ADAQ Registered Training Organisation, and can be used for either self-development or development of practice staff.
“We are delighted to partner with ADAQ once again to offer the ADAQ and BOQ Specialist CPD Bursaries,” said BOQ Specialist’s State Manager, Jeff Miller. “Not only does this mark the strength of our long-standing relationship with ADAQ, but also our commitment to supporting professional development within the Queensland dental community.
Commenting on the bursary, ADAQ President, Dr Norah Ayad, said: “ADAQ is proud to partner with an organisation that values the ongoing continued professional development of its members. ADAQ and BOQ Specialist Bursary program is a strategic initiative that supports members and aligns with the ADAQ motto of supporting you in your profession. It is an invaluable opportunity for our members and their staff to develop professional and clinical skills.”
BOQ Specialist CEO, Hugh Lander concluded: “BOQ Specialist has provided distinctive banking solutions to dentists for over 30 years so we deeply understand their career trajectory and the importance of continued professional development. We are proud to continue our partnership with ADAQ and through the bursary program, support dental practitioners in delivering the highest level of care and service to their patients.”
The bursaries are open to ADAQ members, with submissions accepted until 5:00pm on Friday 6 November 2020. The bursaries will be awarded at the ADAQ Annual Clinic Day on Friday 27 November. In addition to a Certificate of Recognition, the two bursary recipients will also be featured by ADAQ and BOQ Specialist in relevant publications, social media and websites.
