ADAVB BOQ Specialist Recent Graduate Bursary

Proudly supporting early career dentists

The ADAVB BOQ Specialist Recent Graduate Bursary is a professional development grant that was launched in March 2019 as part of a long-standing partnership between BOQ Specialist and the Australian Dental Association Victorian Branch (ADAVB).

The bursary is open to ADAVB members who have graduated within the past seven years and aims to acknowledge their commitment to high quality learning and to provide financial support for further professional development through continuing education courses.

The bursary is for $5000 to be spent on courses at ADAVB for professional development.

Applications for the 2024 ADAVB BOQ Specialist Recent Graduate Bursary, will open in August 2024.

Congratulations to our 2023 bursary recipients

We are delighted to announce Dr Roshine Linus as the recipient of the 2023 ADAVB BOQ Specialist Recent Graduate Bursary, and Dr Alison Lee as the runner up.

Dr Roshine Linus

Dr Linus has been awarded $5,000 to be applied towards ADAVB Continued Professional Development (CPD) courses. Our judges were impressed with the way she dedicated herself to a community clinic in a regional public hospital, which serviced a diverse community.

As the winner of this bursary award, Dr Linus says, "I know it will prove instrumental in developing my skills and bettering my treatment planning in order to offer patients both comprehensive and optimal dental care. As I am transitioning to working part time privately, these courses will both enhance and refine my skills in areas that are not routinely practiced in public dental."

Dr Alison Lee

Dr Lee has been awarded $2,500 to be applied towards ADAVB CPD courses. Our judges commended Dr Lee for her focus on easing the anxiety of her patients by using holistic and varied treatment options, as well as her passion for helping rural public clinics through the Royal Flying Doctor Service.

As the runner up of this award, Lee said she was excited to use the grant to improve her knowledge and clinical skills. "I would love to learn and develop professionally in planning full mouth rehabilitations, extracting impacted wisdom teeth and removable prosthodontics."
