What is VIP Access and how do I use it?
To help keep your account secure, BOQ Specialist Online Banking and Mobile app requires two-factor authentication. To do this, we use an app called VIP Access.
The app will generate a one-time code for you to use when logging into your Online Banking account or signing in on a mobile device for the first time.
VIP Access is available for both iOS and Android and is required prior to registration for Online Banking or the Mobile app.
How can I access the BOQ Specialist Mobile app?
You can access your accounts using the BOQ Specialist Mobile app, available for both iOS and Android.

Once you’ve opened an account with us, you can sign in for the first-time using either the Mobile app or website.
How do I register for the Mobile app (if I haven't activated Online Banking)?

Download and open the BOQ Specialist Mobile app on your device. You will see introductions on the app’s features

Tap "Get Started".

Tap "First time signing in" (you’ll see this option below the password field) on the login screen.

Enter your client number, password and credential ID.

Enter the security code displayed on your VIP Access app.
- If you don't have your client number or password, or your temporary password has expired, contact the BOQ Specialist Client Service Centre on 1300 160 160

Tap "Sign in".

Review and accept the terms and conditions.

Choose and confirm a new 4-digit PIN for quick access to the app. This PIN will be used for future logins on the same device.

If your device supports it, you can choose to turn on Touch ID/Face ID (biometric login).

Create a permanent password for BOQ Specialist Online Banking and Mobile app.

Tap "Save/Continue".

Set up at least three security questions and answers.

Tap "Select security question" to choose a question from the list.

Enter your answer.

Select "Add another question" if you want to add more than three security questions.

How can I log into the Mobile app (if I have a new device)?
If you already have a BOQ Specialist Online Banking account (i.e. you’ve registered before via the website or app) or you are installing the Mobile app on a new device, follow these steps to log in:
- Open the BOQ Specialist Mobile app.
- Tap "Get Started".
- Enter your client number and Online Banking password.
- Enter the 6-digit security code from the VIP Access app.
- Tap "Sign In"
- If this is the first time you’re signing in on a new device, you’ll need to set a new 4-digit PIN.
- If your device supports it, you can also choose to turn on Touch ID/Face ID (biometric login).
How do I log into the Mobile app?
- Open the BOQ Specialist Mobile app.
- Enter your 4-digit PIN.
- If you have enabled biometric login, you can use Touch ID or Face ID log in.
- You are now signed in.
How can I reset a forgotten password?
Forgotten passwords must be reset via the Online Banking website.
- Visit the Online Banking {external-link} login page
- Select "Forgot my password".
- Follow the prompts to reset your password.
Which devices are supported on the BOQ Specialist Mobile app?
iPhone and iPad
At present, the iPhone and iPad app support iOS 16 and above.
From late July 2026, the Mobile app will be upgraded and will only support devices using iOS 17 and above. Any clients with devices that use iOS 16 and below will not be able to use the Mobile app after this upgrade.
Android
At present, the Android app supports devices using Android Version 11 and above.
How can I update VIP Access?
To transfer your linked VIP Access app to a new device or if your VIP Access token is no longer linked to your account, contact the Client Service Centre on
1300 160 160 or +612 9293 2121 from outside Australia.
Self-service and account maintenance
How can I access FAQs and key self-service functions?
To access self-service and account maintenance functions, you’ll need to log into Online Banking using the BOQ Specialist website.

- Select "More" from the menu.
- Scroll to "Utilities".
- Click "Help / FAQ".
How do I update personal details?

Log in to the BOQ Specialist Mobile app.

Tap "More" in the services section.

Select "Personal details".

You’ll be able to update your tax file number, email address, residential address and postal address.

If you’re updating your address, start typing your address and select it from the list.

If your address doesn’t appear when you type it, you can request to change it via "Secure message".
- Select "Change of details" as the message subject and fill out your information.
Note: Contact details can only be updated for individual account holders. To update details for a non-individual (e.g. Super Fund, Company, Trust) send us a "Secure message".
Term deposit maturity instructions
How do I reinvest a principal and interest balance?

Log in to the BOQ Specialist Mobile app.

Select the Term Deposit you want to provide maturity instructions for.

How do I reinvest a principal balance?

How can I withdraw all funds from a maturing term deposit?

Log in to the BOQ Specialist Mobile app.

Select the Term Deposit you want to provide maturity instructions for.

Select the "option menu" (⋮) in top right menu.

Select "Maturity instructions".

Click "Set Up".
-
Select "No, I do not want to reinvest".

Select an account from the dropdowns where the funds will be deposited.
- "Account for interest amount transfer".
- "Account for principal amount transfer".
- You can select the same account in both dropdowns if you want to withdraw the funds to the same account.

Select "Next" to review the maturity instructions.

Click "Confirm" to submit your maturity instructions.
Navigate the Mobile app
How do I navigate the home screen and manage accounts?
On the home screen, you will see a list of all your BOQ Specialist accounts.
- If you have only one entity, all your accounts appear in a single list.
- If you have multiple entities, accounts are grouped under each entity’s name (shown on a blue heading bar) – scroll down to view accounts for different entities.
How can I reorder accounts or entities?
To change the order of your accounts (or entities) on the home screen:
- Tap "reorder" (an icon with two arrows or lines in the top-right corner of the home screen).
If you have more than one entity:
- Press and hold the three vertical lines (︙) next to an entity’s name.
- Then drag and drop it into your preferred order on the home screen.
To rearrange accounts within a specific entity:
- Tap the blue header of the entity to view that entity’s accounts.
- Tap "Reorder Accounts" (an icon with two arrows or lines in the top-right corner).
- Press and hold the three-lines next to an account name.
- Then drag it to your desired position within the list.
- The new order will be saved and reflected on your home screen for that entity.
How do I view account details and update an account nickname?
- Log in to the BOQ Specialist Mobile app.
- From the home screen, tap on the specific account you wish to view.
- Tap the "options menu" (︙) in the top-right corner.
- Select "Account details".
- On the 'Account details' screen, you’ll see the account’s nickname, current interest rate, and any interest accrued on the account to date.
- Click "Edit" next to the nickname to change the account nickname (the name or label for the account as displayed in the Mobile app).
- Enter the new nickname.
- Save the changes.
- The updated nickname will now appear for that account in your account list.
How can I change my Mobile app login PIN?
- Log in to the BOQ Specialist Mobile app.
- Tap "More".
- Select "Security settings".
- Select "Change Mobile app PIN".
- Enter and confirm your new 4-digit PIN.
- Tap "Done".
Note: This only changes the PIN for the app on your current device – if you use the app on another device, its PIN remains unchanged.
What can I do if I have forgotten my Mobile app login PIN?
If you forget the 4-digit PIN used to access the BOQ Specialist Mobile app, you can reset it on the app’s login screen.
- Log in to the BOQ Specialist Mobile app.
- Tap "Reset PIN". Located at the bottom of the login screen.
- Enter your Online Banking password to verify your identity.
- Choose a new 4-digit PIN for the Mobile app.
Your Mobile app PIN is now reset. Use this new PIN for future logins to the app.
How do I view or remove a registered mobile device?
View and manage the devices authorised to access the BOQ Specialist Mobile app and remove any you no longer use.

Log in to the BOQ Specialist Mobile app.

Tap "More" from the bottom menu.

Select "Security settings".

Click on "Registered devices".
- You will see a list of all devices currently registered to access your account via the BOQ Specialist Mobile app.

"Swipe left" on the device name to remove a device from the list.

Tap "Remove"
-
Select "Confirm".
Note: Once removed, the device will no longer be logged in to your BOQ Specialist account. If you need to use the app on that device again, you’ll have to sign back in.
How can I manage push notifications on the Mobile app?
- Log in to the BOQ Specialist Mobile app.
- Tap "More" on the bottom menu.
- Select "Push Notifications" under the settings section.
- From the list of notification categories. Toggle each one "on or off" according to your preferences.
- Available push notification types include:
Multi-factor authentication
If an action requires you to complete a multi-factor authentication, we can send you a push notification instead of a one-time password via SMS. This is especially helpful if you don’t always have access to your Australian phone number.
Payment authorisations (multi-sign)
Alerts when there is a payment or transfer awaiting your approval on a multi-signatory account (i.e. transactions requiring multiple authorisers).
New secure messages
Notifications when you receive a new Secure Message in your Online/Mobile Banking inbox.
General updates
For updates or notices related to the BOQ Specialist Mobile app.
How do I enable or disable biometric login (Touch ID/Face ID)?
You can turn the app’s biometric login feature on or off.
- Log in to the BOQ Specialist Mobile app.
- Tap "More" from the bottom menu.
- Select "Security settings".
- Locate the "Biometrics" option (this will appear as a toggle or switch).
- Toggle "Biometrics" on to enable fingerprint/Face ID login, or off to disable it.
- Follow any additional prompts to confirm.
Note: You may be asked to verify your decision using a one-time password via SMS. After this, the change will take effect immediately.
How can I update my security questions?
- Log in to the BOQ Specialist Mobile app.
- Tap "More" in the services section.
- Select "Security settings".
- Click on "Security questions".
- Tap "Select security question" to choose a question from the list and enter your answer.
- Set up at least three security questions and answers for your security profile.
- Select "Add another question" if you want to add more than three security questions.
- Tap "Save".
Note: New security questions will overwrite your prior questions; it does not add to them.
How do I setup balance peek on the Mobile app?
Balance Peek is a feature that lets you see selected account balances before logging in (on the sign-in screen when you open the app) for quick reference.
To enable and use Balance Peek
- Log in to the BOQ Specialist Mobile app.
- Tap "More" from the bottom menu.
- Select "Balance peek" from the 'Settings' section.
- On the 'Balance Peek' screen, toggle on "Enable Balance Peek ".
- Choose which accounts you want to see in your 'Balance peek' by toggling them on.
- Accounts from all your entities will be listed (grouped by entity).
- You can select up to three accounts per entity.
Once enabled, you will see balances of accounts you’ve selected by opening the BOQ Specialist Mobile app and swiping down on the login screen.
No need to enter your PIN or password to see balances.
Secure messages
What is a secure message?
A Secure Message is a secure way to communicate with our Client Service Centre through Online Banking or the Mobile app.
You can view Secure Messages that have been sent to you and also compose a message to send to BOQ Specialist.
Secure Messages can be used for anything from asking a question, to requesting an international transfer or updating your account details.
How can I send a secure message?

Log in to your BOQ Specialist Mobile app.

Tap "More" from the bottom menu.

Select "Secure messages" from the 'Services' section.
- Note: If you have more than one entity, you will need to select the entity you are sending a secure message for.

Select "Create message".

Pick the most relevant subject from the drop-down, according to the message you need to send.
-
Fill out the requested information.
-
Select the account associated with your request.
-
Click ‘Send’.
Note: Many of these requests (updating personal contact details, payment limits, account closures, redraws) are also available via the self-service ‘Help and Support’ menu.
How do I view secure messages?

Log in to your BOQ Specialist Mobile app.

Tap "More" from the bottom menu.

Select "Secure messages" from the "Services" section.
- If you have more than one entity, you will need to select the entity you are sending a secure message for.

Select "Inbox" to see messages you’ve received.

Click on "Sent" to see your sent messages.

Manage my card
Card maintenance
How do I activate or unblock my card?

Log in to the BOQ Specialist Mobile app.
-
Tap "More" from the bottom menu.
-
Select "Manage cards" in the settings section of the menu.
-
Select the card that needs to be activated (or unblocked).
-
Tap "Activate" or "Unblock"
- If prompted, you can choose to set a new PIN or keep the existing PIN for the card.

If setting a new PIN, enter and confirm the new 4-digit PIN.
Once confirmed, your card will be active and ready to use.
How can I change my card PIN?

Log in to the BOQ Specialist Mobile app.

Tap "More" from the bottom menu bar.
-
Select "Manage cards" in the settings section of the menu.
- You’ll see a list of your cards (including cards from all entities, if you have multiple).

Select the card you want to manage.

Tap "Change PIN".
-
Enter and confirm your new 4-digit PIN.

Tap "Done".
You’ll see a confirmation message confirming the card PIN has been changed.
How can I temporarily block my card?
- Log in to the BOQ Specialist Mobile app.
- Tap "More" from the bottom menu.
- Select "Manage cards" in the settings section of the menu.
- Select the card you want to block.
- Toggle on "Block card" to lock the card.

How do I report my card as lost or stolen?
When cancelling a card, a replacement card is automatically issued and sent to your current postal address. Update your address in ‘Account settings’ first if needed.
- Log in to the BOQ Specialist Mobile app.
- Tap "More" from the bottom menu.
- Select "Manage cards" in the settings section of the menu.
- Select the card you want to cancel.
- Tap "Cancel card"
- Let us know whether the card was lost or stolen.
- Tap ‘Next’.
- Follow the prompts to confirm cancellation.
Once complete, the card will be cancelled and can no longer be used. A new card will be mailed to you.

Credit card FAQs
How do I pay my credit card bill?
You can pay your credit card bill using either direct debit, BPAY or transfer funds from your BOQ Specialist account to your BOQ Specialist Credit Card.
You can transfer to your credit card from a BOQ Specialist account through Online Banking or the Mobile app.
Payments may be delayed until the next business day due to processing times.
How can I transfer funds to my credit card?

Click on "Transfer between accounts".

Select "From Account" (the account you want to transfer out of). If you have accounts under multiple entities, all your accounts will be listed and grouped by entity.

Enter the amount to transfer.

Add a payment description (this will appear in the transaction details for reference).

How can I make automatic direct debits for my credit card account each month?

Go to "Help and Support".

Select "Change repayment account - credit card".

Select your credit card account.
-
Choose the repayment type: minimum owing balance, full balance, or a specific amount each month.

Select "Internal" to debit another account in the same entity or,

Select "External" to debit an account from another financial institution.
- For external repayment accounts, you’ll need to provide the institution name, account ABN/ARBN (if applicable), account name, BSB and account number.

How do I pay my credit card bill using BPAY?
You can make a payment from the financial institution of your choice using the following details:
Biller Code: 745729
Reference Number: Your 16-digit BOQ Specialist Credit Card number
Please allow up to 2 business days for payment processing.
Who do I contact about my credit card insurance policy?
BOQ Specialist card insurances are underwritten by Chubb Insurance Australia Limited (ABN 23 001 642 020, AFSL No. 239687) (Chubb). BOQ Specialist has entered into a Group Policy for the benefit of cardholders. Terms, conditions, exclusions, limits and eligibility criteria apply to insurances - Insurance Terms and Conditions.
Make sure you pay special attention to the benefits, eligibility and exclusions. It is particularly important to do this before travelling or purchasing goods as your cover may not be sufficient for your personal circumstances. BOQ Specialist does not guarantee this insurance.

What are the fees and charges for credit cards?
Annual percentage rate:
The annual percentage rate which will apply to the unpaid daily balance on your credit card account subject to any interest free period and any special promotions, if applicable.

Interest free period:
There is an interest free period on your card account of up to 55 days on purchases and other debits, other than cash advances and balance transfers.
Minimum payment due:
You must pay the minimum payment due shown on each monthly credit card statement on or before the due date, giving due consideration to processing times for each payment method.
However, if that day is not a business day, it is due on the next business day. The minimum amount owing is calculated as the greater of $20 or 2% of the closing balance (rounded to the nearest two decimal points). If the closing balance is less than $20, then the minimum payment due is equal to the closing balance.
In addition, you must pay any amount in excess of the credit limit and any amount shown on the monthly credit card statement as overdue. These amounts are due and payable immediately.

Digital wallet and Apple watch management
How do I add my debit or credit card to Apple Pay?
- Open the Wallet app on your iPhone.
- Tap the "Add card" button (+).
- Tap 'Debit or Credit Card' to add a new card.
- Click on "Continue".
- Tap or hold your card close to your iPhone to add your card.
- Tap "Enter Card Details Manually" to manually add your card and follow the onscreen instructions.
- Verify the card via SMS one time password or by calling the Client Service Centre on 1300 160 160 if you require further assistance.
- Accept terms and conditions.
- The card is ready to use.
How do I add my card to an Apple Watch?
If you have a paired Apple Watch, you have the option to add the card to your watch.
- On your paired iPhone, open the Apple Watch app.
- Click on the 'My Watch' tab.
- Tap "Wallet and Apple Pay".
- Tap "Add card".
- Select ‘Debit or Credit Card’ to add a new card.
- Tap "Cards found for you" to add a card that you used previously.
- Click on "Continue"
To add your card:
- Tap or hold your card close to your iPhone to add it.
- If you’re unable to add your card by tapping or holding it close to your iPhone, position your debit or credit card in the frame to scan it.
- To manually add your card, tap 'Enter Card Details Manually' and follow the onscreen instructions
- Verify the card via SMS OTP or by calling the Client Service Centre on 1300 160 160 if you require further assistance.
Follow the steps on the screen in the Wallet app on your Apple Watch to manually add your debit or credit card to your watch.
How can I add my debit or credit card to Google Pay?
Add a card to an Android device that supports Google Pay
- Open the Google Wallet app
- Tap "Add to Wallet" (+) at the bottom.
- Tap "Payment card".
- Select "New credit or debit card".
- To add a card, use your camera or tap ‘Enter details manually’.
- Tap "Save and continue" at the bottom.
- Review the terms and conditions.
- Tap "Accept".
- Verify the card via SMS one time password or by calling the Client Service Centre on 1300 160 160 if you require further assistance.
Transfer, pay and statements
Making transfer and payments
What are the BOQ Specialist BSB and BPAY biller code?
BOQ Specialist has a BSB that can be used for any payments being made into accounts which can be seen in your BOQ Specialist Online Banking profile.
This BSB number is 951-200.
When receiving payments from a third party, please ensure you provide them with this BSB, your account number and the account name. Please ensure you check these details carefully before providing them to the third party so that the funds reach your account as intended.
Credit card payments can be made using the BOQ Specialist biller code (745729) and your 16-digit card number as the reference.
How can I change my transfer or payment limits?
Payment limits cannot be updated in the Mobile app. To manage your daily payment limits, log into Online Banking.
To update your transfer/payment limit via Online Banking:
- Log into Online Banking {external-link}
- Click "Other services" on the main menu.
- Select "Payment limits".
- Under "Action" select the three dots.
- Click on "Edit".
- Enter the new limit.
- Select "Update".
- Click on "Submit" to finalise your new limit.
Note:
- If you’ve chosen to raise your limit, we’ll confirm the change by sending you an SMS confirmation code.
- Your "Overall limit" acts as a master limit representing the maximum amount that can be transferred (inclusive of all other limit types) per day.
- In many cases you will need to increase your "Overall limit" in addition to your chosen limit type.

How do I transfer between my accounts?

How can I make a pay anyone payment?

Log in to the BOQ Specialist Mobile app.

Tap "Payments" on the bottom menu.

Select "Pay Anyone'.

Choose "From Account" to debit for the payment.
- If you have accounts under multiple entities, all your accounts will be listed and grouped by entity.

Select the "Recipient" for the payment.

Choose a saved Payee from your list of previously saved recipients (the list will show payees associated with the currently entity of the account selected to debit).

To add a new recipient, Tap "New Payee" (+ icon in the top-right). Enter the payee’s BSB, Account Number, and Account Name.

Tap "Verify" to run the Confirmation of Payee name check when adding a new payee; review ‘Partial’ or ‘No Match’ messages before proceeding.

Enter the Amount to pay and a payment Description (if not pre-filled or if you wish to change it).

Choose when to pay.
- Immediately (Pay Now).
- On a Specific Date (Transfer On).
- On a recurring basis (Make a recurring transfer).

Tap "Pay" to submit the payment.

How do I make a BPAY payment?

Log in to the BOQ Specialist Mobile app.

Tap "Payments".

Select "BPAY Bill Payments".

Select "From Account" to debit the BPAY payment.
- If you have accounts under multiple entities, all your accounts will be listed and grouped by entity.

Choose the Biller you wish to pay.

Select a saved biller from your list or add a new Biller.
- Tap "Add BPAY Biller"(+ icon in the top-right).
- Enter the Biller Code and your Customer Reference Number (CRN) for the biller and assign a Biller Nickname.
- Tap "Next" to save the new biller to your list for future use.

Enter the amount to pay for the bill.

Choose when to pay.
- Immediately (Pay Now).
- On a Specific Date (Transfer On).
- On a recurring basis (Make a recurring transfer).

Tap "Pay" to submit the payment.

Follow the prompts to confirm and submit the BPAY payment (review any on-screen alerts or messages).
How do I forward date or make recurring transfers?
Log in to the BOQ Specialist Mobile app. When you are on any transfer screen (Own accounts transfer, Pay anyone or BPAY bill payment) choose:
Transfer On
To set a single future date and type or pick the date.
Note: If the date falls on a non-business day, Online Banking auto-adjusts to the prior business day.
‘Make a recurring transfer’
Choose the frequency for the recurring transfer. When adding recurring transfers, you will need to select the start date for the payments and confirm if the recurring payments should occur indefinitely or end on a specific future date.
Continue and confirm the payment as per the normal process.
How can I view pending payments?
- Log in to the BOQ Specialist Mobile app.
- Tap the account you want to view.
- Tap the "Options menu" (︙) in the top-right corner.
- Select "Scheduled payments".
A list of all upcoming payments scheduled for that account will be displayed (including any future-dated one-off transfers or repeating payments set on that account).
How do I manage payees and BPAY Billers?

Log in to the BOQ Specialist Mobile app.

Click "More".

Select "Payees management" to see your list of saved Pay Anyone recipients.
- If you have multiple entities, you will need to select the entity before seeing the list of payees.
To view your saved BPAY billers, please log in via Online Banking.
How can I manage authorisations (Multi-Signatory Accounts)?
- Log in to the BOQ Specialist Mobile app.
- Tap the account you want to view.
- Tap the "Options menu" (︙) at the top-right.
- Select "Authorisations".
- If there are any transactions or payments on that account awaiting additional approvals, they will be listed on the Authorisations screen.
- For each pending item, you (or other signatories) can approve or decline the transaction.
- To authorise a pending payment, select it and follow the prompts to approve (or choose to decline if you do not want to authorise it).
Can I manage batch payments in the Mobile app?
Batch payments are not available in the Mobile app. To manage batch payments, you will need to access Online Banking via the website.

How can I view eStatements or tax statements?
- Log in to the BOQ Specialist Mobile app.
- From the home screen, tap on the account you want to view.
- Tap the "options menu" (︙) in the top-right corner.
- Select "eStatements".
- A list of available statements for the account will be displayed, including periodic account 'eStatements' and any 'Tax statements' for the account.
- Tap on a statement to view.
Note: Statements show per-account information. Tax certificates appear in the list when applicable and cover a whole financial year.

You can choose whether to receive electronic statements only or both electronic and paper statements.

Select "eStatement preferences".

If you have multiple entities, you’ll need to select an entity first (you’ll only be changing statement preferences for that entity).

On the 'Statement preference' screen, select your preferred statement delivery option for that entity (online only or paper and online).
- If you’re choosing paper statements, make sure your postal address is up to date in ‘Account settings’.

Tap "Save" to confirm the new statement preference.
View transaction history
How can I view and search transaction history?

Log in to the BOQ Specialist Mobile app.

From the home screen, tap the account you want to view transactions for.

To find specific transactions, tap the 'Search' bar at the top of the transaction list. From there, you can then refine the transaction list.
- 'Search for Text': type any keyword or part of a transaction description to search for matching transactions
- 'Transaction Type': filter by transaction type (select ‘Debit’, ‘Credit’, or ‘All transactions’)
- 'Date Range': choose a preset range (Last 30 Days, 60 Days, 90 Days) or set a custom start and end date
- 'Amount Range': filter by transaction amount by selecting a predefined range or enter a custom range

After entering your search criteria, tap the ‘Search’ button
You’ll see all transactions that match your filters.
How do I export transaction history?
Transactions can only be exported from Online Banking.
To export transactions via Online Banking

After loading your transaction history,
- Click "Export viewed" to download the current page of transactions.
- Click "Export all" to download all transactions matching your search criteria.

On the transaction export page, choose your file format from the dropdown.

Click "Download".
Note: You may need to enable pop-ups for your browser for the download to complete.
