BOQ Specialist secures exclusive partnership with AVA

BOQ Specialist has expanded its partnership with the Australian Veterinary Association (AVA), becoming the Gold Finance Partner for AVA members over the next 3 years.

The BOQ Specialist team has over 25 years experience offering tailored financial services solutions to veterinary professionals in Australia, based on their qualification rather than net wealth. The partnership will allow the bank to more closely support the AVA’s 7 500 members as they realise their personal and professional ambitions.

“BOQ Specialist’s long history of working with vets, from graduates to established professionals, has given the team a rich knowledge of the challenges and opportunities they face,” said Dr Brett Robinson, BOQ Specialist CEO.

BOQ Specialist’s research paper, Specialists Serving Specialists, revealed that vets have moved from being mainly providers of care to sick and injured animals, to suppliers of comprehensive pet care solutions. The research also showed that vets were increasingly thinking about branding and marketing to differentiate themselves in an increasingly competitive working environment.

“These trends mean the profession’s need for specialist financial solutions has grown, especially if they are among the 46%2 who work in group private practice. Our understanding of changes within the profession ensures we are able to be nimble and develop banking solutions which continue to suit,” Dr Robinson said.

The AVA is the only national association representing veterinarians in Australia. Its vision is to be the health and welfare leader in Australia’s animal industries.

Through the expanded partnership with BOQ Specialist, AVA members will be able to access a holistic banking package which includes a competitive variable or fixed home loan with the ability to borrow up to 100% of the value of a property without paying Lenders Mortgage Insurance, an optional offset account on variable home loans to minimise interest3, an everyday transaction account (the BOQ Specialist One Account) and choice of premium credit cards are also part of the offer. Other exclusive benefits include a 24 hour client service centre and a choice of frequent flyer programs.

Commenting on the partnership, AVA CEO Graham Catt said that having an expert banking partner would offer strong support to members.
“We are pleased to deepen our long-standing relationship with BOQ Specialist, which has an impressive track-record of supporting veterinary practitioners to manage their personal and professional finances,” Mr Catt said.

In addition to the AVA, BOQ Specialist has a number of partnerships with some of Australia’s leading professional associations, including the regional Australian Medical Association (AMA) in NSW, ACT and QLD; the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP); the Australian Dental Association (ADA) and CPA Australia.
