Upcoming changes to the Everyday Plus account Frequent Flyer earn rate

What is changing?

We’re introducing a change to the way Qantas Points and Velocity Points on credit balances are earned on Everyday Plus Accounts, effective 1 April 2022:

  • Earn rate: The earn rate is changing from 1 point for every $10 average daily balance to 1 point for every $20 average daily balance.
  • New $100,000 cap: The earn rate will be capped on credit balances of $100 000. Points will be award on balances up to $100,000 only.


Everyday Plus Account holders will receive a notice of the change via email. Please read the information contained in the email carefully as it relates to changes to the Terms and Conditions that govern your Everyday Plus Account and retain a copy for your records, a copy will be published here.

  • Earn 1 Qantas Point or 1 Velocity Frequent Flyer Point for every $20 of daily average balance in your account, calculated at the end of each month, paid on balances up to $100 000*
  • No establishment or account keeping fees
  • Visa Debit Card with Apple Pay and Google Pay*
  • Savings up to $250 000 are covered by the Government's Deposit Guarantee
  • Support from our Client Service Centre 24 hours a day, 7 days a week

      1. You must be a member of the Qantas Frequent Flyer program to earn and redeem Qantas Points. Membership and Qantas Points is subject to the Member Terms and Conditions. Points will be earned on positive account balances in accordance with the BOQ Specialist Everyday Plus Qantas Rewards Program Terms and Conditions.
      2. To earn and redeem Velocity Points you must be a Velocity member. Velocity membership and Points earn and redemption are subject to the Member Terms and Conditions, as amended from time to time. 
      3. To determine the average daily balance for your account, add the closing balance from each day in the month together, and then divide the total by the number of days in the month.
