Earning Velocity Frequent Flyer Points

  • Now that Virgin Australia is in voluntary administration what does that mean for my Velocity Points?

    Although Velocity Frequent Flyer is owned by the Virgin Australia Group, it is a separate company and it is not in administration.
     

    That means Velocity is still operating and you can continue to earn Velocity Points, however, Velocity Frequent Flyer have made the decision to pause all redemptions for an initial period of four weeks from 21 April 2020. This means you won’t be able to redeem your Velocity Points during the pause. For information on your points and updates on the Velocity Frequent Flyer program, you can go to www.velocityfrequentflyer.com.  

     

    Please note: Any changes will be at the discretion of Virgin Australia and Velocity Frequent Flyer and cannot be determined by BOQ Specialist.

  • Will my BOQ Specialist Velocity credit card or Everyday Plus account continue to operate?

    Yes they will, there is no impact on the usage and function of your BOQ Specialist credit card or Everyday Plus account and you can continue to earn Velocity Points.

    Please note: BOQ Specialist operates a direct earn program. This means that Velocity Points earned during the month on your credit card or Everyday Plus account are automatically sent to Velocity on the first day of the following month. The Velocity Points you have earned will then be credited to your Velocity Frequent Flyer account.

Switching reward programs

  • Can I switch I switch to the Qantas Frequent Flyer program?

    Yes, you can switch your BOQ Specialist credit card or Everyday Plus account to earn points via the Qantas Frequent Flyer program. To do this, simply complete the Frequent Flyer Program Switch Form. Once this form has been processed, you will be issued with a new card and Everyday Plus account number. 

    You must be a member of the Qantas Frequent Flyer program to earn and redeem Qantas Points. Click here to join the Qantas Frequent Flyer program.

    Please note: If you decide to switch your BOQ Specialist credit card or Everyday Plus account to the Qantas Frequent Flyer program within any given month, the points you have earned in that month via the Velocity Frequest Flyer program will be forfeited. Furthermore, you can only begin to earn Qantas Points once you receive your new credit card or new Everyday Plus account number and start to use the new credit card or Everyday Plus account. 

  • What happens to my current Velocity credit card or Everyday Plus account balance if I choose to switch programs?

    Once your new credit card has been activated or new Everyday Plus account has been opened, the remaining balance will be moved over to the new account.
