ADAQ+BOQ Specialist CPD Bursary

Proudly suporting the Queensland dental profession

The Australian Dental Association Queensland Branch (ADAQ) and BOQ Specialist are proud to offer two professional development grants to Queensland dentists.

Launched in 2017, the ADAQ+BOQ Specialist CPD Bursaries aim to recognise dental practitioners that are committed to quality learning and to support their career development by funding continuing professional development.

Valued at $5,500 each, the two bursaries are available to current members of ADAQ. One bursary will be offered to a recent graduate member (with less than 5 years of work experience), and the other will be offered to an experienced practitioner (with over five years of work experience). The bursaries are to be applied towards ADAQ Continuing Professional Development events or certificate III or IV in Dental Assisting via the ADAQ Registered Training Organisation, and can be used for either self-development or development of practice staff.

Applications for the 2020 ADAQ+BOQ Specialist CPD Bursaries are now closed. The successful recipient will be announced shortly.

Hear from one of our 2019 recipients:

Congratulations to our 2019 bursary recipients

Dr Faye Goodyear

"We were very excited to hear we were successful in our application for the ADAQ+BOQ Bursary. The bursary will benefit the whole team, not only the team member undertaking specific training. Improving the skill of one or more team members enhances the level of care and service we provide to our patients, as well as providing the team member with a sense of achievement and mastery. By continuing to enhance our skills, learn new techniques and keep abreast of the latest advances, we are able to increase the level of trust our patients have in our abilities because they know we care about ensuring they receive the best orthodontic care available, tailored to meet their specific needs."

Dr Tim Keys

"Winning the bursary is a massive opportunity for our practice as it means that we can focus on upskilling our support staff. Our staff are amazing, and we want to be able to progress them in their careers and ensure they are challenged and engaged in their roles. This is not only beneficial to them, but to our practice and our patients as well. By having more highly skilled staff, we can improve our efficiencies in the practice and the quality of service we provide to our paediatric and special needs patients."

"I was very honoured to receive the ADAQ and BOQ Specialist Bursary in 2018. What a fantastic opportunity to be able to attend some diverse and interesting courses! I enhanced by knowledge, and was able to implement skills learnt straightaway at my practice, benefiting my team and patients alike."

Dr. Brooke Parker,  2018 ADAQ+BOQ Specialist Bursary Recipient

"ADAQ and BOQ Specialist Bursary program is a strategic initiative that supports members and aligns with the ADAQ motto of supporting you in your profession. It is an invaluable opportunity for our members and their staff to develop professional and clinical skills. ADAQ is proud to partner with an organisation that values the ongoing continued professional development of its members."

Dr. Norah Ayad, President ADAQ

"BOQ Specialist has provided distinctive banking solutions to dentists for over 30 years so we deeply understand their career trajectory and the importance of continued professional development. We are proud to continue our partnership with ADAQ and through the bursary program, support dental practitioners in delivering the highest level of care and service to their patients."

Hugh Lander, BOQ Specialist CEO
